Antibacterial β-Glucan/Zinc Oxide Nanocomposite Films for Wound Healing
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract Advanced antimicrobial biomaterials for wound healing applications are an active field of research their potential in addressing severe and infected wounds overcoming the threat resistance. Beta-glucans have been used preparation these materials bioactive properties, but very little progress has made so far producing biomedical devices entirely beta-glucans integration with effective agents. In this work, a simple eco-friendly method is to produce flexible beta-glucan/nanostructured zinc oxide films, using glucans derived from yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae . The properties films characterized through scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, photoelectron diffraction, infrared UV–visible thermogravimetric analysis, differential calorimetry, water absorption tests. Finally, antibacterial nanostructured composite assessed against Staphylococcus epidermidis Escherichia coli , showing marked effectiveness former. Overall, study demonstrates how novel bionanocomposite can be obtained towards development advanced devices.

FOXO1, TGF-β Regulation and Wound Healing
Re-epithelialization is a complex process that involves migration and proliferation of keratinocytes, in addition to the production of cytokines and growth factors that affect other cells. The induction of transcription factors during these processes is crucial for successful wound healing. The transcription factor forkhead boxO-1 (FOXO1) has recently been found to be an important regulator of ...
